14. Happiness
Walking down the street, bag in hand, my phone beeps in my
pocket. Fumbling to keep the drinks and bad in one hand, I retrieve my
cellphone to check the message: "Waiting
for you." I smile and hurry up. Within a few minutes, I arrive at my
destination and enter without knocking.
"Hi, sorry I'm late," I say, bringing the coffee
to Charles. He smiles and stands to kiss me hello.
"No worry, you're not the only one late anyway. These
noobs could get lost in their own kitchen."
I laugh and install myself beside him, computer and headphones
ready to buckle into a MMORPG we discovered not long ago.
"I wanna go tank this time, being a mage is boring in
this game," I state, half-turning to see what Charles is up to. He shrugs.
"Go for it, we'll probably have more DPS than needed
already."
"And what will you be?"
"A troll, what do you think. I'll buff the shit out of
you," He says with a lopsided smile, and I roll my eyes but return it.
"Alright, let's get this party started," I mutter
as I open Skype.
