38. Want
- Fairytale's reality -
"You told me this would work!" She sobbed to her
fairy godmother as she clutched her dead love against her chest.
"I told you this wouldn't end up happily, yet you
ignored me. This is what happens to foolish girls."
She had no pity for those who believed were beyond the
rules, and no mercy for those who realized their mistake after everything was
taken from them.
"I didn't believe he would actually die. Can't you do anything?"
The girl continued to plea.
"To reach into the Death's land to bring someone back
to life is sadly out of my abilities. Besides my deal with you was to make the
man fall in love with you, but only for ten days. You had to say the spell
after that time, otherwise he'd perished, and yet you didn't."
The girl looked down the dead man's face. "I was
blinded by love, I thought it would break any illness."
"Love is not a cure for many things, you must have realized." She was growing bored of all that
talk. She wanted to do her job and move on.
"I'm so sorry, Joffrey…"
"The only thing you're sorry for is
that it didn't work longer. I see through your heart, don't lie. Let it be a
lesson for you."
The girl sobered up, let go of the
corpse.
"And what would it be? Don't love someone who doesn't love you
back?"
"No, it'd be that your wants don't
come over the others'. Don't try to bend them to your will, or they'll break
instead."
On these words, the godmother vanished.
(What is 100TC?)
